Hi, I'm Dr Ng Choon-Ching. I hold a PhD from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK, and I have over ten years of experience spanning both academic research and industrial innovation. For about a decade, I've worked in Singapore's technology sector, holding key roles at Panasonic R&D Center, Pensees Pte. Ltd., and Mikomiko Pte. Ltd. Alongside my industry work, I also spent two years as a lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), where I led a university-funded research project on machine learning techniques for web page language identification.
My work centers on computer vision and machine learning, particularly building robust, practical sensing solutions for real-world applications. In industry, I've led high-impact projects in abnormal event detection, video content analytics, driver monitoring systems, and facial analysis applications. I'm also an active researcher, with publications in journals and conferences such as Image and Vision Computing, IEEE Access, and ACCV. What sets my approach apart is that I bring together industrial pragmatism and academic rigor — I don't just develop models in theory, I build systems that need to work reliably in the field.
I'm looking to continue combining my industrial and academic experience to advance research and innovation in intelligent systems — particularly in computer vision, image processing, generative AI, face sensing, abnormal event detection, and embedded/edge sensing applications. I'm especially interested in opportunities (whether research collaborations, applied projects, or roles) where I can help bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and deployable, real-world solutions.
