Hi, I am a PhD graduate from the University of Adelaide, Australia. I have now returned to Malaysia to explore a career opportunity here.
Briefly, my PhD research demonstrated how excipients (inactive ingredients) influence the colloidal stability of lipid nanoparticles in vaccine formulations. The goal is to aid the development of stable RNA-lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations that could be stored at 5°C for extended periods of time. This is to produce more robust formulations than the unstable ones used in the COVID mRNA vaccines. My primary analytical technique is dynamic light scattering (DLS) to assess the colloidal stability of LNPs in solution. This includes determining the diffusion interaction parameter, the hydrodynamic radius at infinite dilution, and the apparent viscosity. I have experience with several other spectroscopic methods and mass spectrometry to investigate interactions among pharmaceutical components in solution. I have applied these skills in laboratory provision at industrial scales (R&D Centres), where my work deepened my understanding of the requirements for a manufacturing-scale setup in accordance with the company’s GLP, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines at each development stage.
